This Monday, there was the Zibelemärit (onion market) in Berne. Since I live close to the city, I decided to go and I put Joy in the Baby-Sling and we took off. Of course, I had to have a piece of the typical Zibelechueche (‘onion tart’) and I bought delicious Nideltäfeli (caramel toffees).
The Zibelemärit is an annual fair which is held on the 4. Monday in November. About 50 tons of onions and garlic are brought to the Swiss capital and sold as beautiful braids. Early in the morning, the market stands are the most beautiful, but Joy and I didn’t make it to town before 10am.
Here are some impressions!
